Pigeon Forge, TN / Cherokee, NC

(Pigeon Forge, TN) Hi 85 Lo 65
Pigeon Forge  is a very eclectic place.  There are lots of places to eat and a bunch of miniature golf.  I think I noticed there were about 12 live theater and dinner theaters. I would say it is more for families.
The yellow building is the Comedy Barn and the next one is Wonder Works, yes its an upside down house on another house.
Jurassic Ride appeared to be like a large amusement park type ride. Here is my FHU site.

Campbell Overlook The overlook is named for Carlos Campbell, who wrote Birth of A National Park. Campbell was a devoted outdoorsman and was a devout supporter for the establishment of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Smokey Mountains on into Cherokee.  All of the drive was just like this.
The Oconaluftee Visitor Center is a 6,300 sq ft visitor center. It told of life in the mountains.
The Mountain Farm Museum has several buildings to show the life in 1800's.
Inside the buildings.

Third photo over - Sorghum cane, a crop grown on many mountain farms, was used to produce sorghum molasses. The cane fed between the rollers of the animal-powered cane mill, which squeezed out the juice. The juice was then boiled over the furnace until it turned into thick, dark, stringy molasses.

  1. You're a little bit ahead of me Sara. I plan to be in that area the first week of July. Hope you enjoy the Blue Ridge. BTW where are you headed?
